Honestly this one of the most disgusting, racist and straight-up sickening youtube videos that I’ve seen in a while. Part of me is hoping, praying almost that it’s fake, but even then it’s just so wrong. Even if it’s fake, these white girls are blatantly using their POC friend as a prop and making her into the butt of a joke. It’s dehumanizing and disgusting.
If this clip is real though. Just. Wow. The thought makes me sick to my stomach, especially as a child of diaspora from a colonized African country (Nigeria) where missionaries destroyed so many of our indigenous traditions, fundamentally altering our way of life and severing us from many parts of our cultural heritage. It may all seem “funny” to these white girls, as they flaunt their racism and white privilege and try to force their religion down the throat of their “wretched, pagan” POC , but, you know what, it’s NOT to the people who’s lives have been so hurt by these systems. And the pain in many colonized communities from destructive mission activity lasts to this day. I am a legacy of that, and it’s NOT a joke.
Don’t know what else I can say. Awful just awful. And absolutely sickening
